About the job
It’s not DNS
There’s no way it’s DNS
It was DNS
Does this now iconic haiku resonate with you? Do you have flashbacks of epic scope, teasing traceroutes and dig output into webs of a narrative that, against all odds, somehow arrives back where you started?
We should talk.
Based in Toronto but with remote team members around the world, Windscribe operates two products:
- Windscribe is a suite of privacy, anonymity and anti-censorship tools for the masses.
- Control D is a modern and customizable DNS service that blocks threats, unwanted content and ads - on all devices. Onboard in minutes, and forget about it.
We have infrastructure all over the world and our goal is preserving uncensored Internet access and online privacy for all. Right now we are looking for an infrastructure engineer to help us tame DNS.
What You’ll do

- Build comprehensive and beautiful documentation.
- Improve operational checklists, processes and validations making them error-proof.
Technical Requirements
We’re looking for your version of “seen it all (mostly)”. You may not have deep knowledge in all parts of the stack but you know the lay of the land. You’re quick to learn, but already possess a solid understanding of all things DNS.

How to apply
Nice, you got all the way to the end, which means you're a fan of reading requirements and instructions. 99% of people don't get this far. To apply, do NOT do it through Wellfound (all applications here will be ignored).
Instead, email jobs.systems at windscribe.com and provide your plaintext resume in the body.
Be sure to include any personal projects you've worked on, no matter how silly you think they are so we can take a look and get a better picture of you before we speak.
