Senior Product Owner needed to join our team, here at VML Enterprise Solutions.
The opportunity:
A Senior Product Owner has extensive experience. They are a key part of the team and expected to take the initiative in ensuring the business needs of our client are fully documented, understood and met by the proposed solution.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage the execution roadmap of digital priorities in collaboration with business and technology to identify critical dependencies
- Manage priorities relating to performance, technical debt and bug fixing, in addition to stand alone customer changes
- Work collaboratively with the delivery/scrum team to create user stories that are aligned to the overall delivery of epics
- Carry out detailed analysis of the business/ customer needs, requirements, impact, scope, risks, and benefits
- Work collaboratively with the UX team to support the generation of designs to support the development teams
- Ensure all user stories are created and maintained in the product backlog, with relevant support documentation
- Ensure the product backlog is accurately prioritised through regular discussion and review with the Head of Product
- Play an active role during the sprint planning meeting in clarifying the requirements and defining the sub tasks that need to be carried out to deliver the user story
- Work as part of the Scrum team to provide further elaboration of user stories and additional context as needed to ensure the team understand the stories and value that is expected to be delivered
- Take an active role in all Sprint ceremonies
- Track and report on benefits realisation
- Lead communication and stakeholder management for your allocated products
- Gather and document complex requirements and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria that can be used and interpreted by both business and technical users. This will involve planning, running and facilitating workshops, and assessing source documentation from the customer
- Manage, guide and support other BAs / POs on your project or in the wider team
- Identify and recommend options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability
- Create logical and innovative solutions to complex problems
- Present proposals to clients
- Manage a scrum / delivery team through to go live
- Analyse business systems in order to recommend efficiencies
- Provide estimates for analysis and project work in conjunction with Project / Programme managers
- Communicate and collaborate with developers, testers and a variety of end users to ensure all solutions deliver customer satisfaction
- Provide training to users of a new system as required
- Plan and work flexibly and support other BAs to meet deadlines
- Keep up to date with technical and industry sector advances and be able to share your knowledge with credibility
- Maintain great client and internal stakeholder relationships all levels of the organisation
- Maintain consistently high levels of client satisfaction and effectively escalating business critical situations to as required
- Manage situations and problems internally and externally
What we want from you:
- You will have extensive experience working as a Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner on large ecommerce or digital experience projects
- Experience of working supplier side and managing client stakeholders and 3rd parties
- Able to plan, and run large workshops with senior client stakeholders and manage senior stakeholders effectively
- Highly proactive, talented, enthusiastic, focused, eye for detail, professional. Keen to learn and to challenge for smarter ways of doing things; a team player proud of their work who wants to share it.
- You like working in a fast-paced environment and are ready to inspire outstanding online shopper experiences for consumers and brands, no matter what product, service, sector, device or channel!
- You will be happy working at client locations when needed
- Experience of Agile software delivery
- Business Process mapping and engineering experience
- Retail / brand experience
- Production of high quality user stories and acceptance criteria
- Analysis and design of systems (package integration and bespoke development)
- Ability to work on your own initiative to an agreed action plan
- Strong communication skills - as this role requires a high level of communication, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills
- Strong problem solving, time management and organisational skills
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
- Energetic, enthusiastic with strong attention to detail
