What you'll be doing:

• Tax Strategy & Compliance:

  • Lead global tax compliance, with a focus on the US and EU markets
  • Ensure adherence to local and international tax laws, with a keen eye on regulatory changes.
  • Develop and implement a robust tax strategy aligned with business objectives.

• Risk Management:

  • Evaluate and address tax risks arising from new regulations, ensuring a proactive approach to compliance while optimizing for business impact
  • Partner with legal and external advisors to manage audits, disputes, and other tax-related challenges.

• Business advisory:

  • Act as a key advisor to the leadership team, communicating complex tax issues with clarity.
  • Manage relationships with external advisors and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of tax policies.
  • Drive alignment between finance, legal, and operations on all tax-related matters.

• Execution & Team Leadership:

  • Own end-to-end implementation of tax recommendations, from planning to swift execution.
  • Oversee and grow a tax function focused on compliance.

What you need to succeed:

• Track record:

  • 8+ years in tax management, with a proven track record in the US and EU markets with strong understanding of overall global tax compliance.
  • Experience in fast-growing marketplace businesses, ideally b2c focused, and US-based with global operations.

• Global Marketplace Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of US and international tax regulations, including cross-border transactions.
  • Expertise with transfer pricing, tax planning, and reporting in a global context.

• Communication Skills:

  • Exceptional ability to simplify complex tax issues for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to navigate challenging conversations with external advisors and regulators.

• Leadership:

  • Track record of owning end to end tax strategy and implementation
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, lead teams, and build scalable processes in high-pressure environments.
