Position Overview

As the Founding iOS Engineer at AnswersAI, you’ll take on the exciting challenge of building our iOS app from scratch. This is more than just a role—it’s a chance to define the future of AnswersAI’s mobile experience and set the technical foundation for a product that will shape education for millions. You’ll work closely with the founding team to create a seamless, responsive, and feature-rich iOS app that integrates deeply with our AI platform.

What You'll Do

• Own the iOS app development: Build, release, and maintain our native iOS application in Swift, ensuring it’s intuitive, fast, and scalable.
• Innovate on the edge of AI and mobile: Integrate cutting-edge AI-driven features into the iOS app, delivering real-time explanations, study tools, and more to students worldwide.
• Solve complex iOS challenges: Develop optimized solutions for real-time API integrations, offline-first experiences, and seamless AI-driven interactions—while ensuring top-tier performance and scalability.
• Set technical standards: Establish best practices for iOS development, emphasizing code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate deeply: Work alongside the design, backend, and AI teams to ensure a cohesive, polished product.
• Lead future growth: As the company scales, you’ll have the opportunity to lead the iOS engineering team, setting the technical direction and building a team to support our global mission.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience: 6+ years experience developing iOS applications using Swift or Flutter with a deep understanding of iOS frameworks and best practices.
• Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of building clean, scalable APIs, optimizing app performance, and designing testable code.
• Passion for innovation: A track record of creatively solving problems in mobile development, especially in integrating AI or cutting-edge features.
• Ownership mindset: You thrive in startup environments, taking initiative and driving projects from idea to execution.
• Collaboration skills: Experience working closely with design and backend teams to create seamless user experiences.
• Bachelor’s degree: In Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multithreaded programming, offline-first mobile experiences, and performance optimizations for iOS apps.
• Familiarity with AI integrations or building features powered by machine learning.
• Previous startup or founding team experience.
