Our goal at P-1 AI is to develop an artificial general engineering intelligence — and eventually superintelligence — that can help the human species design physical systems more efficiently and at unprecedented levels of complexity. Going beyond existing foundation models, our autonomous AI agent learns from synthetic training data and real-world feedback and reasons over an internal multi-physics representation of a product design that encompasses both geometry and function. This is a leadership role that bridges between our engineering / AI teams and our prospective customers and design partners. During the pre-revenue phases of our company, this individual will be the primary customer-facing member of the company’s leadership team. As the company gets closer to revenue, that responsibility will be shared with the sales function and the emphasis of product leadership will shift towards developing shipping discipline.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Work with the CEO and leadership team to pressure-test and refine the company’s business model.
- Lead the development of the go-to-market strategy including approaches to: inbound vs. outbound, top-down vs. bottom-up, open-source vs. closed-source, whale vs. land-and-expand, etc.
- Lead the prioritization of product domains / market verticals based on market sizing, PMF, and other considerations. Develop and maintain relationships with prospective customers / design partners through the pre-revenue phases of the company.
- Act as the interface between prospective customers / design partners and the company’s engineering team to define and prioritize product features, oversee compliance topics (customer data protection, intellectual property, regulatory, etc.), and manage socio-technical considerations.
- Create and maintain product KPIs.
- Serve as the “voice of the customer” on the company’s leadership team.
- Maintain the company’s product roadmap.
- As the product matures, develop shipping discipline.
- Recruit and build a small team of cracked product people.
ABOUT YOU
- Customer-side experience at a major OEM in the building systems, industrial systems, automotive, aerospace, or analogous physical product domain.
- Product shipping experience at a B2B SaaS and ideally AI company.
- Start-up experience and e/acc mindset — thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment; self-directed and self-motivated; exceptional written and verbal communicator; AI techno-optimist.
- Clarity of thought — structured, data-driven, and logical thinker and communicator.
- Solid technical/engineering background.
- Strong leadership skills and excellent judge and attractor of talent.
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and be an individual contributor, not just a manager.
- Ideally located in the SF/Bay Area, though this is not a requirement. Must be located in the US and have existing authorization to work in the US.
- Willingness to spend a considerable amount of time visiting customers / design partners.
