The RoleReporting line to the Global Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing key support to the Global Payroll Manager in the end to end payroll function. This role will ensure the accurate, streamlined and efficient processing of payroll across all Megaport international entities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist in preparation and processing of end-to-end fortnightly, monthly and off-cycle payroll for all Megaport employees
- Prepare, reconcile and lodge superannuation and retirement funds ensuring compliance with state and regional legislation (i.e. 401(k) plans, UK pension)
- Review payroll tax and lodge returns
- Assist with the management of the Workcover lodgements in each state
- Assist with Auditors' requests globally
- Assist with preparation of financial year-end paperwork
- Assist with internal and external payroll queries, escalating where appropriate
- Maintain and manage all employee leave queries, ensuring compliance with relevant leave policies
- Work with the payroll manager to ensure we are payroll-compliant in all registered states and countries
- Interpret and understand awards, employment agreements, and individual contracts for all markets where the Company employs . (i.e. Modern Awards, Fair Labour Standards Act FLSA, etc.)
- Be the go-to person for systems guidance on Deputy, Trinet, ADP and other internal payroll and rostering tools
- P&C support and ad-hoc projects as required

- Comfortable working in a challenging, dynamic environment; intellectually curious and excited about learning new things
- Aptitude to learn and understand new software and applications
- Ability to execute processes and tasks with little supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft MS Word and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience using ADP and Trinet payroll systems would be advantageous
