Job Overview
Our team is focused on developing a set of components written in Java and Rust. Family of high-load gateway services written in Rust providing validation and routing of game, business partner's, platform services requests inside Platform. Java projects provide: storage of global game title configuration, storage and distribution of product catalog containing all goods available for purchasing, custom FaaS framework, storage and accrual of user achievements, determining the composition of product displays and their prices, limitation on the sale of products.
The team plan is to take ownership of a gRPC-like system software serving all the Platform services, a CLI for service configuration and deployment, and an Anti-DDoS app-layer system defense like Proof-of-Work that also written in Rust.
What will you do?
- Perform back-end development in Rust
- Integrate external services
- Make the software and solution architecture decisions
- Participate in code reviews
- Be responsible for a set of services and their SDLC: tooling, CI/CD process, monitoring, and alerting
- Build a tech debt queue of the set of services and its visibility, review all related pull-requests
- Ensure non-functional requirements: resilience, robustness, performance requirements
- Collaborate and communicate with internal and external development teams in order to deliver the best online experience to our players
What are we looking for?
- 3+ years of experience as a server-side software engineer in UNIX environment
- Readiness to be hands-on in development-intensive individual contributor role in Rust
- Good knowledge of HTTP and AMQP protocols
- Hands-on experience with Tokio, Hyper (warp, axum)
- Strong unit-test and debugging skills
- Exposure to test methodologies and approaches
- Hands-on experience in maintaining a production system
- Concurrent programming experience (threads, futures, actors, green threads, etc.)
- Experience with API design: REST, RPC, etc.
What additional skills will help you stand out?
- Experience building highly scalable, distributed systems
- High aptitude and technology-agnostic approach to engineering
- Experience in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) solving real-world problems using SQL
- Experience with Python, Java, or willingness to learn
- Prior experience working in Cloud environments (Docker, Kuber)
- Experience with messaging and/or streaming systems, cloud computing and/or micro-service architectures
- Love to pro-active monitoring of cutting-edge technologies
- Experience working and contributing to open-source projects
Work mode
Hybrid (2-3 days of work from the office)
The salary range for this role in Vilnius is EUR 5000 - 5900 monthly gross.
