Senior Acccountant, Consolidations & Intercompany

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The Company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant, Consolidations & Intercompany, to join our accounting team. This is a newly formed role that will support our consolidations and intercompany accounting processes. This position will report to our Director, Financial Reporting, with direct interaction with our corporate accounting, shared services and operational accounting teams, and will be located in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Support the consolidations and intercompany accounting processes, including eliminations, reconciliations, billings, and settlements across a large group of affiliate entities.
• Review and analyze intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with intercompany agreements and accounting standards.
• Review elimination journal entries, as necessary.
• Prepare elimination and consolidation proofs at multiple levels of reporting, working closely with financial reporting team.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of intercompany balances at multiple levels of reporting, identify discrepancies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues on a timely basis.
• Execute assigned tasks for monthly accounting close and financial statement preparation processes, including variance analysis of all intercompany activity for monthly analytics meetings.
• Support intercompany billing and settlement process, including implementing new intercompany agreements in the system.
• Work closely with the shared services team to ensure intercompany invoices are issued timely and accurately, and with treasury team to cash settle intercompany balances on a regular basis.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline intercompany and consolidation procedures and enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Respond to auditor requests that arise during the quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
• Partner with the internal controls team to establish and maintain system of internal controls.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, industry regulations, and system enhancements to optimize intercompany and consolidations processes.
• Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA is a plus
• 3 - 4 years of related experience in an audit or other intercompany accounting related role (mix of industry and Big 4 experience is a plus)
• Knowledge of multi-ledger accounting including intercompany accounting and consolidations across a group of affiliate entities
• Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve, work independently, and consistently meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Strong communication skills (written and oral)
• Proficiency in Excel
• General understanding of GAAP
• General understanding of internal controls
• Experience with SAP S4HANA (accounting system) is a plus
