Senior Software Engineer - PostgreSQL Database

As a Senior Software Engineer - PostgreSQL database expert, you will work closely with our development and operations teams to ensure seamless database operations and optimal performance. You will be expected to design and implement database systems, monitor and optimize performance, and ensure data integrity and security. Additionally, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a backup and recovery framework for the disaster recovery purposes. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential for this role.

You will:

• Design and Administer PostgreSQL databases.
• Ensure database performance, integrity, and security.
• Monitor and optimize database performance.
• Ensure database security and compliance
• Design and execute disaster recovery strategies.
• Automate database tasks and processes.
• Perform database tuning and optimization.
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide solutions.
• Perform database upgrades and patching.
• Monitor database health and performance metrics.

You have:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or relative experience (6+ years).
• Proven experience as a PostgreSQL database engineer.
• On premise database management is desired
• Deep understanding of database architecture and design.
• Strong experience with database tuning and optimization.
• Proficiency in SQL and database scripting.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range$233,840—$283,780 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
