Partner & Head of User Research
Role Overview:
The Partner & Head of User Research is a key client-facing role responsible for driving product research initiatives from start to finish. This role combines hands-on research expertise with strategic insight, applying both qualitative and quantitative methods to deliver actionable recommendations that shape product strategies. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients is essential, ensuring the user’s voice informs each stage of digital product development.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership-Centric KRAs
Client Engagement and Consulting
- Act as the primary research representative in client pitches, presentations, and briefings.
- Clearly articulate the value of research in addressing client needs and guiding product direction.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to integrate user-centered design, owning research-led outcomes for clients.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Alignment
- Work closely with internal teams (design, analytics, development) to align research insights with strategic objectives.
- Serve as the user experience advocate in client projects, translating insights into actionable product solutions.
Thought Leadership and growth centric
- Take part in growing research portfolio’s PnL by identifying opportunities
- Stay informed on industry advancements, sharing insights with the team to drive continuous improvement.
- Contribute thought leadership through blogs, webinars, and other content to elevate the firm’s reputation.
Research-Centric KRAs
User Research Planning and Execution
- Develop tailored research plans, selecting the best methods (e.g., usability testing, surveys, A/B testing) for each project.
- Oversee participant recruitment to ensure diverse feedback, optimizing insights for client needs.
Data Synthesis and Insight Generation
- Analyze data to identify key patterns and actionable insights; create clear reports and presentations for clients.
- Develop user personas, journey maps, and empathy maps to encapsulate user behavior and needs.
Deliverables and Reporting
- Maintain structured deliverables, including research briefs, insights decks, and recommendations.
- Document and archive research materials systematically, ensuring knowledge-sharing across teams.
Impact Measurement and Continuous Improvement
- Measure the impact of UX research through usability metrics and client-aligned KPIs.
- Advocate for iterative research processes, embedding user feedback throughout the product lifecycle.
Quality Assurance and Standards
- Uphold ethical standards and research rigor across all data collection and testing activities.
- Continuously refine methodologies for improved research quality, efficiency, and insight accuracy.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years in User research, preferably in digital product consulting or agency settings, with a track record of client presentations.
- Strong command of qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
Skills:
- Excellent communication, with the ability to distill complex findings into compelling narratives.
- Proficiency with tools like UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, and Qualtrics.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster trust with clients and team members.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in HCI, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
