Job SummaryThe Maintenance Assistant will report to the Maintenance/Facility Supervisor. He/she is responsible for maintaining shop and facility cleanliness along with performing various duties as assigned by the Maintenance/Facility Supervisor. Complete preventative and corrective maintenance activities in various facility buildings, equipment and the grounds. Must demonstrate a high level of detail and standards.

Perform Facility duties as assigned by the Facilities/Maintenance Supervisor to ensure functional performance, appearance, and safe conditions. These include painting, material handling of parts and equipment, along with grounds maintenance.2. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities work from specifications, drawings and manuals.3. Safely work independently and around others by following all required procedures and processes.4. Repair, maintain, lubricate, install and replace plant equipment as assigned.5. Responsible for keeping the floors, windows, machinery and the overall facility clean. 6. Prepare, record and maintain maintenance records associated with equipment procedures & manuals.7. Periodically drive CRT vehicles to drop off or pick up supplies and materials along with grounds equipment.8. Safely work independently and around others and identify plant deficiencies and other unacceptable conditions if observed.9. Perform additional duties as assigned.10. Must maintain positive, cooperative attitude and be able to work with other employees as a member of an organizational team.

Required Qualifications1. High school diploma2. High level of attention to detail3. Must be able to read and follow written work instructions and work with minimal supervision. 4. Ability to operate a tow motor. 5. Valid driver’s license and a clear driving record for the past 3 years is required. a. Employee will be required to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record Check upon offer of employment and annually thereafter. An unacceptable record includes a DUI, Reckless Operations and/or Fleeing the Scene of an Accident.

Other Qualifications1. Education, training and developed competencies in the areas of industrial maintenance including electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical controls, and systems along with fabrication, etc.2. Previous snow plowing and land scaping experience.3. Ability to operate small equipment, i.e., skid steer, small tractors, scissor lifts, JLG’s, etc.

Work Environment1. This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.2. Work in varying positions from time to time. Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift. 3. Move parts (>50 pounds) using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods. Move less heavy parts (<50 pounds) with or without hoists, slings, or carts. 4. Frequently exposed to wet and warm conditions.5. The noise level in some work areas may be loud.6. Follow all safety and environmental rules that apply.7. Use of safety and personal protective equipment is mandatory under some conditions. The following may or may not be required. a. Ear plugs. b. Safety glasses. c. Uniform. d. Face shield. e. Chemical resistant protective jackets. 8. Occasionally use powered and non-powered hand tools.
