Tech Lead Manager - Reliable Infrastructure

Moloco is a machine learning company operating at massive scale (we ingest 10 petabytes of training data per day) and our models are blazingly fast (returning predictions in 10 milliseconds or less); and a profitable unicorn (we're valued at $2B & been profitable for the last 17+ quarters).

On the Reliable Infrastructure team, you’ll provide cross-functional leadership for a cloud infrastructure team which focuses on reliability and availability of Moloco’s critical business systems. Moloco utilizes multiple cloud providers, and Reliable Infra is responsible for ensuring uptime, availability, and observability of Moloco’s critical infrastructure assets.

What you'll do

• Manage projects, grow, and mentor a team of software engineers with SRE / production engineering experience and background
• Plan and implement availability, reliability, and continuity of infrastructure platforms at massive scale in Moloco’s machine learning systems
• Optimize infrastructure platform reliability with different goals including observability, replication, and failover
• Lead and drive Moloco’s incident response processes, to ensure rapid response and resolution to critical production issues
• Lead the operation and refinement of Moloco’s deployment and CICD processes to ensure consistent and timely delivery of software and ML artifacts to production
• Collaborate with other engineers at Moloco to build the best ML-based mobile advertising platform in the world
• Manage a distributed team of reliability engineers in the US, Korea, and potentially other locations in the future

What you'll need to succeed

• BS in Computer Science or related fields (MS preferred)
• Leadership experience -- time spent as a Technical Lead Manager or Engineering Manager
• Direct experience as a leader and/or IC on a reliability-oriented team (SRE, Production Engineering, etc) at scale
• Management experience -- we're seeking someone who can optimize each team member's strengths and apply their skills in the right place
• Desire to still be hands on, working alongside the rest of the Reliable Infrastructure team and adding value to complex projects
• 10+ years of hands-on industry experience in software development
• Excellent software development skills and fluency in at least one programming language (preferably Java, Go, or Python)
• Outstanding problem-solving skills
• Bias for action; ability to inspire a team
• Experience in Cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure etc.)
• Experience in distributed computing
