The System Data Integration (SDI) engineer you will be active in the team responsible for the management and development of the system models and data required to perform the different network calculations at Elia. From system data sources, which we will manage in the team itself (mainly load, generation and storage data), and different asset (physical) data sources, we create qualitative system models that supports a range of ever-evolving network calculations in the different system tools (EMS and PowerFactory) which are used by a variety of internal stakeholders.
In this function within the Load, Generation and Storage project, the service will:
- be responsible for the development of referential and tools for Load, Generation and Storage (“LGS”) data, models.
- be responsible of the integration of LGS data and other network data to construct a complete system model for network calculations in planification, near-to-real-time and real time (in PowerFactory and EMS).
- define, develop and rationalize the interfaces around the system tools; define and check the application of the best practices; apply as much as possible the international standards.
- In collaboration with the stakeholders, define the operational processes; update them if necessary and document them.
- be the technical lead of parts of the data, models and processes. Be responsible for efficient and automatic integration via scripting. Take the lead on developments, analysis, tests and validation. Make sure the standards and best practices are applied to the code.
- analyze the quality of the data and interfaces within the responsible. Apply controls, analyze KPIs, logs, failure reports, and make the necessary structural and curative adjustments to the processes
- make sure that knowledge is passed on to operational users or other interested parties of the developed tooling and processes.
Requirements:
- A master’s degree in a technical domain (preferably in energy, electricity or electromechanics)
- Preferably know how to model a high voltage network (specifically load, generation and storage) in a software environment. Knowing the properties of the different components and their function in the electrical system.
- Preferably have three years of experience in a similar environment (Power Factory, Energy Management System, Sincal, PSA, Convergence or other network calculation applications) and have a knowledge on the calculations done.
- Experience in coding for data management and transformation purposes (python, github, or others)
- Strong analytical and critical mind and are a creative problem solver looking for the structural solution
- A team player that takes the initiative and organizes themselves in structured way, with the ability the clearly communicate.,
- Flexible and client oriented.
- Knowledge of Elia is a plus
- Speak English and Dutch or French (+willingness to learn the other language) fluently.
