We are looking for a high energy, collaborative leader to manage the Accounting Team. The Corporate Controller will ensure the necessary accounting functions are done in an accurate, complete, and timely manner. The Controller has management responsibility for all the accounting operations of the Company and must deliver financial results and reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP).
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, operations, support, and end-to-end Corporate Accounting processes in North America including, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Accounting Staff, and Payroll
- Maintain general ledger integrity within the SAP ERP system to ensure accurate and consistent application of accounting policies; to include design, system oversight, controls, and policy setting for global accounting processes
- Manage and own all aspects of the Global financial statement close cycle and operational accounting function to ensure accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions, including reconciliation of all general ledger accounts
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and reporting processes for the Consolidated Financial Statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
- Improve, implement, and manage policies and procedures to increase organizational efficiencies and adherence to internal controls
- Manage relationships with independent auditors, including coordination of external audits and reviews
- Provide Treasury support including, but not limited to: manage bank relationships, manage foreign currency exchange transactions, coordinate domestic and international bank transfers, and support preparation of short-term and long-term cash forecast reports
- Challenge current ways of working to instill a performance culture resulting in impactful process changes and system improvements to increase efficiencies wherever possible
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree and CPA preferred.
- 8+ years or more of related experience required, preferably with public accounting experience
- Experience with multi-currency and multi-entity consolidations required
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to work cross-functionally, influence, and communicate clearly with all levels of management
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to develop frameworks and solutions to questions and concepts
- Ability to work with a high degree of integrity, professional judgment, and management of confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities
- Possess a strong knowledge of accounting rules (GAAP) and be process-oriented in the application of these rules and ability to analyze and interpret technical accounting guidance
- Experience in companies facing rapid growth while maintaining the highest standards in accounting practices
- Proficiency or familiarity in SAP ERP system, preferred #LI-TM1
