Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Engineer to join our remote team. As a Backend Engineer at BrandCollab, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems that power our platform.

Responsibilities

• API Development: Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure APIs to support various features of the BrandCollab platform.
• Database Management: Develop and optimize database schemas and queries to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Integration: Work on integrating third-party services and APIs to enhance platform functionality.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with frontend engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Testing and Debugging: Write unit tests and perform debugging to ensure the stability and security of the backend systems.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for backend processes and systems.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in existing systems and contribute to the development of new features and tools.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role, preferably in a startup environment.
• Languages: Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java.
• Frameworks: Experience with web frameworks and libraries (e.g., Express.js, Django, Flask).
• Databases: Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• APIs: Experience with designing and consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
• Cloud Services: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Version Control: Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Startup Experience: Previous experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Microservices Architecture: Understanding of and experience with microservices architecture.
• Security Best Practices: Knowledge of best practices for backend security.
