About the job

Our mission is to spread DMARC everywhere. We offer superior tooling, educational resources, and expert support—but at our core, we’re people helping other people understand and protect a vital asset, their email domains. Staying focused on our mission means we’re constantly improving by learning from the challenges that everyone faces while deploying DMARC.

We are growing our Development Operations team and seeking individuals with Linux systems administration experience at the core, biased towards security, networking, and provisioning automation to join our team.
*Responsibilities *

  • Managing daily system operations of GCP and our platform
  • Troubleshooting system and network issues
  • Helping Product Development with systems-based architectural decisions
  • Implementing and documenting methodologies for maintaining our infrastructure as we grow, both refining existing mechanisms and developing new processes
  • Monitor and capture metrics for system operations
  • Monitor systems for security events
  • Extending current, and creating new automation to accomplish all of the above
  • Work closely with our Development team to design and implement new infrastructure needs to support future initiatives

Who We’re Looking For

  • A strong Linux/Unix background, with a good understanding of Linux configuration mechanisms (We primarily use Ubuntu)
  • Experience developing large automation efforts with standard Linux tools
  • Experience with automation tooling such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef (strong preference for Ansible)
  • Previous professional experience in Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with (or willing to learn) Infrastructure as Code (We use Terraform)
  • A good understanding of the end-to-end Mail Transport process and protocols (We use Postfix)
  • A good understanding of the TCP/IP stack, basic routing and firewalling concepts, and how to troubleshoot networking issues
  • Database management, monitoring and support experience (strong preference for PostgreSQL experience).
  • Previous professional experience with an enterprise monitoring system (strong preference for Zabbix experience)
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • A passion for computer, network, and application security
  • Roughly 3 years of experience

Role Objectives

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize infrastructure to ensure high availability and minimal downtime for applications and services
  • Ensure all systems and software is ‘in support’ from a versioning standpoint
  • Adopt security and best practice measures designed to protect the health of the platform and customer data.

Other Information

  • North America candidates only
  • 100% Remote
  • This is a full-time position
  • Core hours for this position are 10am-2pm ET during the week.
  • Development Operations technician needs to be able to respond outside of business hours for system maintenance, outages and emergencies (this, too, is minimal)
