Role:
Are you excited about the future of robotics and eager to make an impact in the manufacturing world? Peer Robotics is looking for a Computer Vision Intern to join our innovative team starting February 2025! As a Computer Vision intern, you will work on developing computer vision applications in ROS2 (Python/C++/Rust) for detection and pose estimation of novel objects in manufacturing and warehousing environments. This role involves end to end developing, fine-tuning and deploying vision models on existing hardware. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in robotics, computer vision, and software development while working with a collaborative and innovative team.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare manufacturing/warehousing datasets for downstream inference tasks.
2. Develop detection and pose estimation models for novel objects from scratch.
3. Deploy and optimise computer vision models for edge devices in ROS2 like Jetson Orin Nano and Orin AGX.
4. Literature survey and presentation of state of the art computer vision algorithms.
5. Visit customer sites for data collection, testing and deploying robots.

Requirements:

1. Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics or Computer Science.
2. Experience developing and deploying robotics applications on real hardware.
3. Experience with C++, Python, and Rust programming.
4. Strong fundamentals in computer vision.
5. Need to have hands-on experience in building vision modules for multiple applications (active Github profile is a must)
6. Team player with excellent communication and problem solving skills.
