Data for the people! Building a new business intelligence stack with strong roots in Open Data and Open Science. Leveraging the current direction for computing and analysing data with fast serverless functions running as close as possible to the user. With built in collaboration and governance to ensure its readiness as a B2B platform.

tocq.io is at an early stage and needs to be built from the ground up. It will be necessary to find smart and tangible solutions for the specifics of what we envision. There is a strong focus on delivering and finding an audience.

It will be a multi year effort to arrive at what we want as a platform and company. As an organisation we are hands-on and do not prioritise headcount over delivered value. Team growth will be deliberately slow to keep the company focused on its core promises.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Co-founder (Head of Data Science or similar) at tocq.io. The role involves developing the data science stack, researching and delivering on AI supported structured data analysis and data discovering. Defining what AI supported data understanding means in 2027. The Co-founder will work closely across the organisation to drive and evolve the ML unit at tocq.io.

Qualifications

Strong background in data science, machine learning, statistics, and data analytics
Experience in building or leading data science teams or managing data projects
Proficiency in data modeling, data visualization, and interpreting data insights
Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with stakeholders
Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, ideally also C++ or Rust
Knowledge of data tools and technologies, possibly also hands-on data analysis and data engineering
Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
Proven track record of building and delivering ML driven solutions with fast iterations
