Lyft is looking for a Litigation Paralegal to join our Legal team. Working closely with Lyft’s in-house litigation team, you will be responsible for conducting investigations, working with cross-functional partners, and helping keep Lyft’s legal operations efficient and organized. You should be a self-starter with a positive attitude who takes ownership of projects and works collaboratively with others.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in-house counsel with administrative tasks, pre-litigation and litigation matters, and responding to legal requests.
- Conduct fact investigations related to pre-litigation matters and filed lawsuits
- Prepare memoranda and summaries of factual research and make recommendations to supervising attorneys
- Coordinate document collection and e-discovery workstreams
- Work cross-functionally with partners outside of Legal to gather facts and information and improve processes
- Manage day-to-day calendaring of legal deadlines and support legal billing processes
- Liaise with internal and external counsel on a day-to-day basis
- Help define procedures and practices within Legal to promote efficient workflows and handling of legal requests
- Organize and maintain a variety of legal files
- Additional responsibilities may include responding to consumer complaints, managing small claims court cases, and handling diverse special projects for in-house attorneys
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years relevant legal experience -- administrative, legal, operations, project management
- A JD or Paralegal certificate is not required for this position
- Experience handling discovery in complex litigation matters
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Collaborative, with ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships
- Exceptionally organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and articulate
- Ability to receive general direction and run projects independently
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and deadlines
- Generally comfortable utilizing new technology
- Proficiency working in a Mac environment, and specifically with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.), Slack, Excel, and Word

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid
The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $68,000 - $85,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
