About the Role:

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Podscribe, you will lead the charge in building and optimizing backend systems and data infrastructures that support and drive our platform’s functionality. You’ll collaborate closely with our cross-functional teams to integrate powerful backend solutions and deliver a seamless experience to our users. This role is perfect for an engineer who’s excited about solving complex data challenges and eager to make a meaningful impact on the technical backbone of a growing startup.

Responsibilities:

Design and Build: Develop and implement scalable backend services and APIs to support our
platform's expanding functionality.
Optimize Data Pipelines: Create and maintain efficient ETL processes and data pipelines to handle
large volumes of data and support analytics.
Integrate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product, engineering, and design teams to
ensure seamless functionality across the platform.
Enhance Security and Reliability: Uphold data security best practices, ensuring the stability and

reliability of our systems.
Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, provide constructive feedback through code reviews, and
promote high-quality development standards.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Backend Engineer.
• Demonstrated experience managing backend engineering projects from inception to completion, driving change effectively, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Self-driven professional with a proven ability to advocate for and implement meaningful change within backend engineering projects.
• Proficiency in backend frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or Node.js.
• In-depth knowledge of databases, particularly PostgreSQL and SQL, with a demonstrated ability to design efficient schemas and optimize queries.
• Experience in building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools like Docker.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles. Must speak English and currently reside in the U.S.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience with ETL pipelines and data warehousing solutions.
• Knowledge of *frontend technologies *(e.g., React, Vue.js) to collaborate effectively on full-stack projects.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and serverless computing.
• Background in ad-tech or data-intensive applications.
• Exposure to machine learning concepts or data analytics tools.

Note Salary Range is $150,000-$300,000 depending on experience. Wellfound does not allow us to post such an expansive range, but final salary will be dependent on the experience of our selected candidate.
