Position Overview
Compa is looking for a marketing and events specialist. You’ll report to our Director of Content, organizing webinars, customer dinners, and industry conferences. When successful, you’ll also assist in email and social marketing to drive customer engagement, lead generation, and revenue.

How you will succeed
Lead successful webinars and virtual roundtable events
Compa hosts monthly webinars, drawing hundreds of participants per event alongside co-hosts from the likes of Google, Walmart, and Roblox.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring each event runs smoothly:
- Managing Zoom invites, Hubspot invite lists, and RSVP landing pages
- Leading webinar support for hosts and attendees during event
- Completing webinar follow-up emails and recordings
- Sharing results (and action items) with marketing, sales, and executive leadership
Webinars continue to be a critical part of Compa’s go-to-market strategy and you will own their iteration and success.
Manage in-person customer events
As part of our core customer and sales strategy, Compa hosts quarterly dinners in the Bay Area, OC, and NYC. Each event typically features 10-15 customers, focused on delivering a fine dining experience paired with thought leadership and industry networking.
We also attend 2-3 industry conferences each year.
You will own planning, coordination, and follow up for every in-person event:
- Restaurant details, customer sites, and space reservations
- Onsite support and event details like name tags, swag, and branding materials
- Event outreach, RSVPs, attendee follow up, and reporting results to leadership
Events are a team effort and you will be supported by a capable many. Sales, marketing, customer success, and executives are all available to make sure each event shines.
Support marking content strategy and delivery
Compa creates dozens of data reports, articles, newsletters, and social ads to educate customers on compensation intelligence.
Our Director of Content leads these efforts and you will support her while honing your expertise and growth:
- Create Hubspot lists, templates, tasks, and workflows
- Use LinkedIn to drive event participation and lead gen
- Update Compa’s website event page(s)
Again, you’ll have plenty to work with as we’ve done a lot here to date. But with your help, consistency, relevance, and quality get big boosts.
Results we expect
Attendees, leads, and revenue impact gets tracked and reported
- Every event is measured (and analyzed) to maximize ROI
- Use HubSpot reports to clearly communicate impact on sales
- Share updates with partners, customers, and GTM team
Event planning (and consistency) increases
- Events calendar gets updated weekly
- Webinars are scheduled quarterly (instead of weeks/month) in advance
- Increase customer and prospect dinners, HH, and lunch+learns
Creativity gets a boost
- You iterate digital and in-person events then iterate again and again
- Introduce new, creative formats for attendee participation
- Explore unconventional venues and medium to add unique experiences
Other Qualifications
- 5 years of event management experience, must have startup/tech industry experience
- Proven track record of successful event execution
- Proficiency in Hubspot and Zoom webinars (or similar tech)
- Experience with Webflow a big plus

Compensation for this role will be $75,000 - $125,000 pending experience. You’ll also receive equity compensation, full medical benefits, and other special startup perks.
