What we do:
The Trade Desk’s Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team plays a vital role in shaping our financial and strategic initiatives. We’re seeking an Associate Manager to support our Marketing and certain G&A areas, ensuring financial discipline and accountability across the organization. What you'll do:
- Partner with the FP&A and Marketing Strategy teams to enhance the budgeting and forecasting processes, fostering financial accountability within the Marketing organization.
- Collaborate with FP&A and Operations teams to improve financial oversight across various departments, driving cost management and accountability.
- Build and maintain comprehensive financial and operational models for high-priority strategic initiatives.
- Assist business owners and the accounting team in month-end close procedures, ensuring accuracy in accruals and operating expense forecasting.
- Prepare insightful materials for financial review meetings, highlighting variances to forecasts and driving improvements in forecasting accuracy and strategic decision-making.
- Conduct value-added analyses to support informed decision-making across the organization.
- Collaborate with Finance, Marketing Strategy, Sales Operations, and other teams to evaluate strategic initiatives, utilizing quantitative analysis to guide executive decisions.
- Design reports and dashboards to track key performance metrics and provide actionable insights.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and procedures, and take on additional responsibilities to support team goals.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate finance, strategy, investment banking, management consulting, data analytics, or FP&A.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles.
- Proven ability to build financial models for forecasting and perform ad-hoc analyses.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely to senior management and business leaders that simplify complex issues.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with the digital media or programmatic advertising industries is preferred.
- Strong business acumen, with a keen understanding of industry dynamics and relevant KPIs.
- Proficient in Excel, with experience or interest in database management (SQL, Vertica), data visualization tools (Tableau), and financial planning software (Oracle).
- High integrity and a proactive approach to supporting the business.

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is$93,100—$170,600 USD
