We are seeking an experienced State Coordinator in Mississippi to join our growing team delivering conservation projects to landowners and producers through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate a team of state wildlife agency conservation delivery staff, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and other conservation partners to deliver RCPP projects to private landowners emphasizing northern bobwhite conservation and historically underserved landowners
• Hire and supervise two (2) State Delivery Specialists
• Collaborate with state wildlife agency private lands administrator for planning and implementation
• Support compliance checks, contracting, and activities through a project management system
• Serve as a liaison between NRCS, field operations, state operations, and national operations
• Work with National Coordinator to secure partner contributions and complete reports
• Maintain a constructive and positive team environment among staff and partners
• Collaborate towards improving program delivery from field operations to administrative processes
Qualifications
• 5 or more years of experience in conservation coordination with partners and employees
• A BS degree in a natural resource management, communications, or business management field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Familiarity with ArcGIS, database operations, and capable of learning new software
• Knowledge of private lands conservation delivery and NRCS cost-share programs
• Strong ability to manage, balance, and prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-stress environment, lead others, and think creatively to solve problems
• Excellent communication skills and highly self-motivated in managing communication channels
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to create and maintain processes that others can easily follow
