About the role:
As the Director of Sales Training, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive sales training program to support the onboarding and ongoing development of our sales account executives. The ideal candidate will design and deliver training content that aligns with our business goals, enhances our sales capabilities, and drives performance excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead training programs: Create innovative onboarding and continuous education programs for new and existing sales executives.
- Sales process alignment: Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure training programs align with company strategy and sales methodologies.
- Product and market expertise: Provide in-depth product, market, and competitive knowledge to enable the sales team to effectively position 10x Genomics products.
- Training delivery: Lead both in-person and virtual training sessions across multiple regions, ensuring consistent messaging and skill development.
- Performance tracking: Establish key performance metrics to evaluate the impact of training programs and refine them based on feedback and performance data.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Product Marketing, Commercial Operations, and field based teams to integrate new product knowledge, tools, and processes into training.
- Adaptability: Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in life sciences sales and incorporate them into the training curriculum.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in sales training, preferably within the life sciences or biotech industry.
- Strong understanding of the life sciences market, products, and sales dynamics.
- Proven ability to lead and manage training teams, as well as collaborate with senior leadership.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Ability to assess training effectiveness using data and KPIs.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, sales enablement tools, and Learning Management Systems.
- Willingness to travel (up to 30%) for in-person training sessions, visits to HQ, and regional meetings.
Below is the base pay range for this full time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one’s skills, qualifications, and experience. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company’s total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x’s equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.
