About the job
As humankind starts spending more and more time online, the majority of the world’s value will also be created online. Cryptographically secured digital assets (coins, tokens, NFTs) present a great opportunity to make the storage and exchange of this value way more seamless and transparent than the systems we currently have. With tech getting better every day, the transition is almost inevitable.
At Efficacy Labs, we build that tech!
Our core thesis is simple:
- As web3 adoption increases, crypto markets will mature.
- With maturity comes institutional demand.
- Institutions need capital efficiency and flexible trade structuring (read: perps and options).
- We build all the infrastructure required to enable this on-chain.
The Role
As a MOVE Language Developer at Efficacy Labs, you’ll be joining our innovative core engineering team. You will help architect, build, and optimize our decentralized infrastructure, focusing on Move-based smart contracts to power the future of DeFi. You will work directly with the CTO and researchers to build highly secure, scalable, and efficient blockchain applications. Your work will involve designing modules for Move-powered blockchains and refining our overall smart contract architecture for interoperability and security. You will find yourself working on problem statements like “Can we make the order book 10 ms faster?” and “Can we reduce MEV by batching limit orders in some form?”
Expect to own entire features, contribute to the product roadmap, and engage in experimental design for protocol upgrades.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of blockchain protocols and Move programming language.
- Proficiency in writing, testing, and deploying smart contracts on Sui or Aptos.
- Strong background in system design, smart contract architecture, and a focus on security (audit or bug bounty experience is a plus).
- Experience optimizing decentralized systems for scalability and performance (particularly with cryptographic data and distributed consensus).
- Proficient with version control systems (GitHub, GitLab) and working in an agile development environment.
- Understanding of DeFi protocols, mechanisms (AMMs, lending protocols, yield farming), and underlying tokenomics.
- Hands-on experience with Rust, Solidity, or Golang is a plus.
Good to Have
- Contributions to projects, especially those involving Move in either Aptos or Sui ecosystems.
- Some exposure to handling massive amounts of low-latency data streams (C++ ninja).
- Experience with capital markets, payments, or DeFi data.
- Working knowledge of containerization using Docker/Kubernetes.
- Active open-source contributor, GSoc mentor.
- Experience with web3 dev tools in some context (Infura, OpenZeppelin, Alchemy, Hardhat, Truffle, etc.).
- Some background in algorithmic trading or machine learning (unsupervised learning specifically).
We don’t filter by years of experience or formal educational qualifications. When we say experience, we mean having led project delivery of a feature at scale using that technology. Whether you’ve got that building experience working at FAANG, a stealth startup, or while hacking a DeFi protocol, doesn’t matter to us. As long as you know what you did and you did it well, it’s all Gucci for us :)
Why Work Here
- Work with the best techies.
- Work with purpose-driven souls.
- Work on radically transformative technology. Make money while disrupting the business of money.
- This is a role that allows you to define your own complex problem statements and own them end-to-end. Goal-oriented tech research with shorter feedback cycles.
- We work out of our office in HSR Layout, Bangalore.
- Be part of Efficacy’s first 10, build and observe our story from the ground up. Be enterprising enough while joining, and we’ll make sure you exit an entrepreneur :)
- Get free DeFi investment advice from me.
- Goes without saying, significant token incentives to initial team members.
