Our platform facilitates fast and secure insurance payments and helps offices automate reconciliation, improving efficiency and reducing administrative burdens. We are seeking a part-time founding engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping our product, with the potential to transition into a full-time role as we scale.

Role Overview:
As the Founding Engineer at Woods, you will be responsible for building our software from scratch, making critical technical and product decisions, and setting the foundations for future growth. You’ll work closely with the founder to shape the product's vision and technical strategy. This is a unique opportunity to have a major impact on a growing company in its earliest stages, designing and implementing a platform that will serve dental offices nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and architect the software platform from the ground up, focusing on automation of insurance payments and claim reconciliation.
• Make key technical and product decisions to guide the company's development direction.
• Work directly with the founder to align the technical roadmap with product vision and business goals.
• Ensure the security and scalability of the platform, with a strong emphasis on HIPAA compliance.
• Establish best practices in development, UX, and security, setting the foundation for future team growth.
• Produce clear, comprehensive documentation to support software development and collaboration.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in backend development, with the ability to design and build systems from scratch.
• Strong understanding of secure system design and HIPAA compliance.
• Proven ability to make critical technical and product decisions in a fast-paced, startup environment.
• Excellent written communication skills, particularly in technical documentation.
• A thoughtful, user-centric approach to creating scalable, secure, and intuitive systems.
