The Role
The Product Manager reports into the Director of Product on our Platform team. In this role, you’ll act as Product Manager for Data Product Teams, taking services and features from concept to production launch. You’ll be a strong communicator, who knows how to engage cross-functional teams and has a passion for machine learning and big data. You’ll balance a deep understanding of our target customers with a data-driven approach to decision making that ensures we’re driving value for both our customers and the business.
Your day-to-day
- Collaborate with engineering, data science and insurance leads and product owners on detailed and complex requirements with a solid technical understanding
- Manage scope, balance trade-offs, define goals, set priorities and oversee a backlog of features from story to acceptance throughout the Agile software development lifecycleLead your team via both Agile Scrum and Kanban work management methodologies
- Evaluate off the shelf solutions and make build vs. buy recommendations
- Facilitate development efforts, timelines, deliverables with other product owners, project managers, program managers, and scrum masters
- Help drive technical design discussions, understand technical dependencies and communicate requirements to your team
- Value performance, scalability and security implications related to design and architecture decisions
- Participate in setting tactical day-to-day priorities for your team
- Make and communicate decisions based on data and evidence; enable data collection for analysis
- Communicate strategy, priorities, and roadmap to all relevant participants and stakeholders
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to prototype, test, learn and create solid and architecturally sound products and services
About you
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Eight or more years experience in a similar/complementary role for a cloud-based or software-as-a-service product line
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum or Kanban environment as a Product Manager
- Comfortable with a distributed multi-stakeholder environment, creating consensus and making timely decisions as needed
- Strong understanding of software development in at least two of the following areas: cloud-based infrastructure, API and backend services, databases, analytics
Strong technical understanding of data engineering/data analytics fundamentalsAbility to drive technical decisions in collaboration with your team
- High degree of analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in all things Atlassian - most notably Jira & Confluence
Bonus points
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related field
Salary: $200,000 to $280,000*
*Please note that the final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, and experience, as well as the internal salary structure at Quanata. - Hours: We maintain core meeting hours from 9AM - 3PM Pacific time for collaborating with team members across all time zones.
