Position: Senior Django/Python Backend Developer
Location: Menlo Park, California
Type: Full-time, Onsite
Reports To: CTO
Education: BS (MS preferred) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5 years with at least 3 years in backend development using Django.

About the Role:
Are you a highly motivated and experienced Django Developer looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in an early-stage startup environment? We are seeking a passionate individual with strong hands-on Software Architecture & Design skills to join our dynamic team. As a senior developer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technology stack, designing scalable systems, and building robust backend solutions using Django and Python.

Responsibilities:
• Take ownership of features & work as an individual contributor (IC) with guidance from CTO.
• Understand the big vision and iteratively translate them to System Architecture.
• Focus on Backend System Design and REST API development, using Django/Python framework.
• Design, develop and deliver complex business logic and database ER-models spanning multiple components.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software systems to enhance functionality and efficiency.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate best practices to continuously improve our development processes

 
Required Skills:
• Rockstar hands-on coder in Python using Django framework.
• A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
• Expertise in advanced Python concepts
• Expertise in advanced Django concepts with a deep understanding of back-end web frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of OO-SOLID principles, Domain Driven Design (DDD), State Machines, ORM, Relational ER mappings.
• Experience in building RESTful APIs using PostgreSQL database and Django-ORM concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in version control systems (Git).
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with a focus on interworking of a complex business use case.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with integration of AI/ML services like LLM / ChatGPT / LangChain and several other ML models.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and a passion for working in cross-functional teams.
