Fullstack Software Engineer - Geospatial & Cloud

Nika.eco is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer - Geospatial & Cloud to join their Singapore-based tech startup

This is not a GIS Developer role but more of a Software Engineer role, so GIS skills like ArcGIS and QGIS analytics are not needed in this role while majority of the time will be spent on building software with different Geospatial libraries such as maplibre and databases such as DuckDB.

As driven by ex-AWS folks with a mission to reinstate integrity and transparency to the climate space, it currently builds PlanetGPT (Next-Gen Geospatial Analysis Web Application). Our goal is to compete with Esri and Google to become the most widely used software provider for geospatial analysis, especially in nature fields. Through this, we wish to create the most amount of indirect impact on fighting climate change by channeling resources to the most deserved areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop frontend and backend web app features in Typescript/Python/SQL
• Build solutions with different Cloud Services such as AWS
• Integrate various spatial data sources: H3, geoparquet, zarr, COG etc.
• Manage on-prem deployment with Kubernetes

Qualifications

• Undergraduate and above
• Eligible to work from Singapore, India, Eastern European countries
• Experienced in web development and full stack frameworks such as NextJS
