About the team
The Wireless Connectivity team at Roku is a part of a broader Product Engineering team and is primarily responsible for all things wireless at Roku: including HW, SW and QA. We are a seasoned team of Hardware Engineers dedicated to designing Wireless/Bluetooth circuit boards for Roku streaming products. Our business is fast paced, requiring the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision in an ever-changing environment.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our hardware group within the Networking team, focusing on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth circuit design. You will collaborate closely with QA and Software Developers.
What you will be doing
- Proposing modifications and process changes for multi-radio coexistence issues considering design constraints and trade-offs
- Reviewing and approving releases of PCB layouts, flex layouts, system-level grounding, shielding, etc.
- Tracking validation status, analyze results and communicate insight from data
- Collaborate closely with QA engineers and Software Developers to execute Wi-Fi and Bluetooth/BLE RvR and coexist tests
- Working directly with chip vendors and contract manufacturers as needed to resolve issues
- Help with lab setups involving usage of RF chamber, shield boxes, RF attenuators, cables, splitters, and signal analyzer
We’re excited if you have
- Expert in one or more connectivity wireless system like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth/BLE
- Experience with RF components and circuits design and integration into consumer products
- Experience with Wireless (Wi-Fi/BT) RF board development and Multi-Radio Co-existence
- Experience debugging and performing optimizations at the conducted or radiated radio systems level
- Proven understanding of RF hardware and standard methodologies for system-level grounding, shielding, isolation, and electromagnetic interference mitigation
- Good knowledge of antenna design principles
- Knowledge of RF component characteristics and experience using lab equipment including LitePoint, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal generator and oscilloscopes
- Successful track record of working closely with Mechanical Engineering and Firmware teams
- Well organized and be flexible in a changing work environment
- Good English communication skills, verbal and written
- Travel as needed (10%)
