MC Program and Social Command Centre:

The VML Marketing Coordinator Program is a large global community of approx. 400 employees sitting at the intersection of Microsoft Marketing and agencies teams. We coordinate campaigns across Microsoft internal stakeholders, VML global Service Delivery Hub teams, and third-party agencies. Campaigns generate sales and leads Microsoft then scores and processes according to their sales strategy. Regional Social Command Center (RSCC) is an expertise group within the MC Program responsible for coordinating and executing marketing tasks for social campaigns and programs.

Who we're looking for:

You will lead and manage all aspects of Xbox’s social media operations, driving strategy, content creation, and engagement. You’ll bring deep expertise in social media management and content creation, working closely with internal teams and clients to elevate Xbox’s brand presence across platforms. This role requires strategic oversight, creative innovation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure social media activities align with business objectives and resonate with our gaming community.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with the content team to plan, optimize, and refine the social media content calendar based on data-driven insights. Ensure content is engaging, consistent with Xbox’s voice, and caters to gaming trends and community interests.
  • Review and/or localize social content for local language(s).
  • Schedule all social content in Sprinklr, ensuring accurate tagging for performance tracking on RSCC managed social channels.
  • Publish and tag all approved content (pre, during, and post-event) on social platforms as per the approved social coverage plan.
  • Respond to comments and private messages on the RSCC managed social channels.
  • Monitor sentiment of incoming comments/messages and promptly notify relevant parties, including Listening & Performance Social Specialists and relevant clients in case of crisis management situations.
  • Proactively manage brand reputation by addressing negative sentiments or crises on social platforms swiftly and appropriately.
  • Oversee social listening efforts to analyze conversations about Xbox and its products. Use these insights to advise on strategy, identify opportunities for engagement, and shape the creative direction of campaigns.
  • Utilize data to assess the effectiveness of social media campaigns. Use owned and earned data to identify trends, report key metrics, and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Manage and grow relationships with key influencers, content creators, and gaming communities. Oversee influencer-driven campaigns to enhance visibility and drive engagement across social platforms.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including creatives and global social to ensure social media campaigns are aligned with broader company objectives and resonate with target audiences.
  • Ensure all local content meets company-wide social compliance and channel standards.
  • Maintain the health of all Xbox social media platforms, ensuring the brand’s online presence remains positive, authentic, and engaging. Manage crisis communications and mitigate any potential risks to brand reputation.
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices in gaming and entertainment. Proactively identify new opportunities to innovate Xbox’s social media approach.
  • Act as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding social media initiatives. Communicate successes, challenges, and actionable insights in a structured and clear manner.
  • For events and when required, provide on-ground social support, capture key moments and interact with users in real-time on social platforms, including LinkedIn.
  • For local events, generate and/or localize social media captions with the assistance of the Content Specialists.

What you'll need:

  • Background and interest in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, blogs + more)
  • A passion for gaming with a deep understanding of gaming culture, trends, and the gaming community
  • Ideally 5+ years’ experience in social media, incl. 3+ year experience in content and/or community engagement disciplines
  • Some experience in creating and delivering content to various target audiences
  • High level of compliance with company rules & processes, e.g. personal data protection or brand guidelines
  • Basic project management skills & experience, readiness to assume responsibility for published content, track activities progress and meet critical deadlines
  • Solid command skills and ability to share often complex information in structured way
  • Comfort in dealing with client stakeholders
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple activities in the publishing calendar and ability to prioritize urgent and important tasks
  • A strong team player with ability to establish working relations with culturally diverse internal and external partners
  • Extensive experience building and managing relationships with gaming communities, and content creators
