About the job

We’re looking for a Senior UX Researcher who can effectively balance user-centred and business aspects while negotiating between. You'll play a key role in understanding and translating customers' needs into actionable insights that fuel business growth.

Every day, tens of millions of people across the world use Bolt's ride-hailing service to move around. As the research lead in the Ride-hailing team, you'll be responsible for leading all global user research related to Riders and/or Drivers, which is critical to the business's success.

Bolt will *not** be able to support your relocation to Berlin. However, relocation to Tallinn (our HQ) could be supported. **If this role is interesting to you, and you’re currently located outside of Berlin, please consider this role in Tallinn, Estonia instead.*

About us

With over 200 million customers in 50+ countries, Bolt is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe and Africa. And it's all thanks to our people.

We believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

Our ultimate goal is to make cities for people, not cars, and we need your help to achieve this mission!

About the role

UX Researchers at Bolt deliver critical user insights to unlock business outcomes. You’ll investigate problems that require a deep understanding of the business and a holistic research approach, blending user insights with competitor, market and industry insights.

The scope of research requires rigorous mixed-methods user research, including remote interviews, field visits, surveys, competitor benchmarks, and A/B testing across domains and verticals.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Regularly proposing user research investigations to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Helping teams prioritise research needs aligned with their business goals and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Being responsible for gaining leadership buy-in by presenting findings, connecting research insights to business outcomes, and quantifying value at the product leadership level.
  • Translating customer insights into quantifiable business opportunities and delivering actionable insights to diverse audiences, from product peers to senior leadership.
  • Establishing and advocating for the UX research function and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Empowering and supporting product managers and designers to conduct research activities and collaborate closely with other UXR peers.

About you:

  • You have at least 8 years of mixed-method research experience in two or more commercial environments, preferably in a fast-paced technology or internet-based company with a global set-up.
  • Having at least 3 years of experience leading (international) research for an entire product area and collaborating directly with product leadership is a strong advantage.
  • You excel in applying your diverse qualitative and quantitative methods portfolio to strategic and business-critical questions.
  • You have strong commercial awareness, connecting user insights to business outcomes and influencing teams accustomed to business metrics.
  • You're adept at distilling complex ideas and creating valuable assets for product and design, including frameworks, use cases, design principles, scenarios, and personas.
  • You're an excellent communicator, adapting your style to diverse audiences and can build strong relationships with your peers and key decision-makers.

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying if you feel you’re the kind of person described above!

Why you’ll love it here:

  • Play a direct role in shaping the future of mobility.
  • Impact millions of customers and partners in 500+ cities across 45 countries.
  • Work in fast-moving autonomous teams with some of the smartest people in the world.
  • Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
  • Get a rewarding salary and stock option package that lets you focus on doing your best work.
  • Enjoy the flexibility of working in a hybrid mode.
  • Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.

*Some perks may differ depending on your location.
