The Technician II will be based out of our Liverpool, NY location.
Responsibilities
- All aspects of Shop Safety
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to ensure a thorough understanding of what is required
- Setup and operate various machinery in the shop including Trumpf TruPunch 3000, Trumpf TruBend V130, Hager PEM 824 PEM Inserter, Lissmac SMW 533 Deburring Machine, National 4 Ft. Hydraulic Shear, and various other shop equipment.
- Make quality sheet metal parts per engineering specifications that supports the development of industry leading products and technologies
- Comfortable supporting a flexible workforce between the Sheet Metal Shop and the Model Shop for the rapid prototyping of parts
- Provide DFM input back to the engineering team
- Perform general maintenance on the equipment
Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years working in a metal fabricating and/or machining environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfortable working on and around machinery
- Computer skills; Solid Works, Trumpf TruTopsSoftware, Microsoft Office
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine metal fabrication process and requirements.
- Ability to use various precision measuring tools and gauges to conduct quality checks that ensure finished products meet the required standards and specifications.
- Willingness to learn and apply new technology
- Ability to program Trumpf machines independently is a plus
