About the job
Today, companies are using VR and AR (XR) to change the way people learn, work, and play. Enterprises are using XR to train employees more effectively; doctors are using XR to reduce chronic pain and improve physical therapy; and schools are using XR to overhaul the learning experience.
ManageXR is the core infrastructure that enables organizations to scale their XR initiatives. Without our tools, running a large operation with hundreds or thousands of headsets is impossible. At ManageXR, we’re supporting some of the largest XR deployments in the world, and helping define how this technology is adopted.
Join as we shape the future of VR/AR and help solve problems alongside our customers as they pioneer what’s possible with immersive technology.

Your role as a Backend Engineer
We're specifically looking for someone to come in and help us level up our analytics, data pipelines, and billing systems - with a keen eye for infrastructure as we scale. Although there will be plenty of future work related specifically to feature engineering and the eventual ability to work full-stack, we're excited about bringing on someone who will have a backend + data focus for the first 6-12 months.
What you’ll do:
- Improve the design of our internal analytics and business intelligence - tracking usage and key user events and integrating them with other sources of data, like from our sales pipeline.
- Dig into our billing system and help us rewrite it from the ground up.
- Help our backend scale to the next order of magnitude. Architect and implement key infrastructure.
- Engineer solutions that take into consideration issues of usability, performance, security, and privacy.
- Collaborate closely with business, product, and the rest of our engineering teams to deliver on our product roadmap - including working directly with the CEO.
- Grow with the company as a technical leader.
What skills and experience you'll need:
- Industry experience building fast, secure, and reliable cloud & web applications
- Drive to thrive with an early stage team
- Strong technical leadership
- Experience with analytics, data pipelines, billing systems
- Experience with our current stack is a plus ↓
- React, Node (NestJS), Electron - all in Typescript
- Google Cloud Platform - App Engine, Kubernetes
- Firestore, PostgreSQL, BigQuery
Job details:
- Salary: $140K - $180K
- Equity: 0 - 0.5%
- Location: San Francisco, California (Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days WFH)
- Benefits: Unlimited PTO, 401k, great healthcare + dental + vision insurance
- Perks: Your very own VR headsets, frequent offsites, professional development stipend, and more
