About The Role

The SRE Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, capacity planning, and performance of our large-scale Telco SaaS environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, system administration, containerization, and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, scalable, and reliable the Microservice based software application on platforms such as AWS, and Google Cloud
• You have strong software engineering experience to debug distributed microservice systems on the AWS and Google Cloud platforms.
• Automate manual work using scripting/programming languages like Java, Python, Bash, or Go-lang, particularly within cloud environments
• Monitor system performance, proactively troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and performance using Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, and ELK stack
• Utilize automation tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and Ansible/Chef to streamline the deployment, monitoring, and management of systems and applications in the cloud
• Participate in capacity planning and scalability assessments to support business growth, focusing on cloud resource optimization
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and standards to safeguard data and systems in the cloud
• Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies and practices to improve system reliability, performance, and efficiency in the cloud
• Document processes, procedures, and configurations to maintain system integrity and facilitate knowledge sharing
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams including product, architecture, development, and QA to improve system reliability and performance.
• Provide 24*7 support and participate in incident management & response activities as needed

Requirements

• 4-8 years of experience in a SRE Role.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Java, Python, Go-lang, or Bash
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with automation tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and Ansible/Chef
• Solid understanding of RabbitMQ, Kafka, and SQS.
• Experience with Database (Mongo, Maria, and MYSQL)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Strong Experience with Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic ELK stack, or similar
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies
• Experience with SLI, SLO, SLA, and Error Budget concepts
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
• Excellent documentation skills

Nice to have

• Certifications such as AWS Cloud certified or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
