Compensation: The initial compensation for this role will be in the form of equity and can be half time to begin with, if needed. Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internet and Email Domain and Networking Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure, with a focus on internet and email domain management. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of networking principles, email systems administration, and network security to ensure the seamless operation of our internet and email services.
Skills and Qualifications: Required of candidate for Internet /Email Domain and Network Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; advanced degree or industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, MCSE) preferred.
• Proven experience in network infrastructure design, implementation, and management, with a focus on internet and email domain management.
• Strong understanding of email systems administration, including experience with email platforms such as Microsoft Exchange, Gmail, or other email services.
• In-depth knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs, and encryption protocols to ensure secure network communications.
• Proficiency in DNS and DHCP management, as well as experience in network performance optimization and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery planning, compliance requirements, and vendor management within a network engineering context.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide user support, and deliver training programs.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure to support internet and email services, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Email Systems Administration: Manage and maintain email systems, including configuration, user management, spam filtering, and email security measures to support reliable email communications.
- Network Security Management: Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls to protect network resources and data.
- DNS and DHCP Management: Configure and manage DNS and DHCP services to ensure efficient domain name resolution and IP address allocation within the network.
- Network Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize network performance, addressing bandwidth constraints, latency issues, and other performance bottlenecks to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Respond to network incidents, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and resolve network-related problems in a timely and efficient manner.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for critical network infrastructure, including email and internet services.
- Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies related to network security and email communications.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors and service providers to procure network equipment, software, and services, as well as manage vendor relationships and contracts.
- User Support and Training: Provide user support for network and email-related issues, as well as develop and deliver training programs to educate users on best practices and security awareness.
