Artefact Benelux in Utrecht is looking for an ambitious Lead Analytics Engineer to build and strengthen our Analytics Engineering team.
About the Role
As a Lead Analytics Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for:
- Develop Artefact technical expertise and reach, through technology watch and involvement in tech communities and blog posts
- Collaborating with a team of consultants, data scientists, data analysts, and engineers to identify client needs and define innovative solutions, taking ownership from start to finish.
- Be a good communicator to be able to interact with both technical and business stakeholders
- Coaching others and participating in training sessions with our business partners and suppliers, such as Google and Microsoft.
- Inspire both external customers and internal team and actively contribute to Artefact's growth
As a Lead Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and executing impactful analytics projects: Manage the design and implementation of scalable analytics solutions, from data pipelines to reporting, ensuring they meet performance and business requirements.
- Shaping the technical development of the team: Foster growth within the team by mentoring and sharing best practices in analytics engineering.
- Expanding Artefact's technical footprint: Engage with tech communities, contribute to internal knowledge sharing, and stay ahead with industry trends.
- Collaborating cross-functionally: Work with consultants, data scientists, analysts, and engineers to identify client needs and craft end-to-end analytics solutions that drive business value.
- Communication excellence: Translate complex technical concepts to both business and technical audiences, mastering the art of Storytelling.
- Inspiring and coaching: Lead training sessions and workshops, both internally and with our business partners, including Google and Microsoft, to enhance the team's analytics capabilities.
Who We're Looking For: Your Qualifications
- Fluency in English is a must, bonus points for Dutch or French speakers
- Academic level education (Master’s) in a technical field.
- 4+ years of experience in a data-centric role with proven success in delivering analytics solutions
- 2+ years experience in mentoring technical talents
- Strong analytical mindset: Expertise in building and optimising data models, transforming raw data into actionable insights
Strong Technical Background
- Proficient in SQL and experience with analytics engineering tools like dbt
- Experience with visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
- Experience with Python for data manipulation and transformation is a plus
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS
- Hands-on experience with modern data integration tools (e.g., Airbyte, Fivetran, Funnel.io)
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
- Knowledge of modern data architecture concepts (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Mesh, CDP, CMP)
- Experience with Data Marketing solutions (Google Analytics, Google Ads) and Data Application tools (PowerApps, AppSheets) is a plus
Consulting and Project Management
- Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and coach technical members.
- Ability to anticipate project risks from the design phase and address them proactively.
- Capable of anticipating risks and solving challenges efficiently.
