- Independently lead and develop new projects, experiments, and scientific processes to support the characterization and development of new assays and modalities.
- Actively undertake technology development and assay optimization efforts to enhance research capabilities.
- Keep up with technical advances in cell and molecular biology, innovating on assays and research projects.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments involving mammalian cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and gene therapy applications.
- Perform nucleic acids extraction, quantitation, gel electrophoresis, PCRs, qPCRs, and other molecular biology techniques.
- Develop and optimize NGS pipelines, including Illumina-based DNA and RNA library construction, QC using TapeStation and fragment analyzer, and running MiSeq/NextSeq.
- Independently execute protocols, troubleshoot assays, and conduct literature searches for technology selection and onboarding.
- Maintain meticulous records of experimental procedures and results, including electronic lab notebook maintenance.
- Collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary environment to achieve research goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. with 6+ years or M.S. with 3+ years of relevant experience in cell and molecular biology, biotechnology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture, including primary and cancer cell lines (e.g., U2OS, HEK293).
- Expertise in a broad range of molecular biology techniques and assay optimization.
- Proficiency in nucleic acids extraction, quantitation, gel electrophoresis, PCRs, qPCRs, and related techniques.
- Experience with NGS pipelines, including Illumina-based DNA and RNA library construction, QC, and sequencing.
- Strong attention to detail in executing experiments and maintaining records.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mouse/human primary hepatocytes, iPSCs, and 3D cell culture.
- Familiarity with long-read sequencing technologies.
- Experience with liquid handling and automated NGS pipelines.
- Understanding of genome engineering technologies and their applications.
What we offer:
- A highly competitive salary, a meaningful equity ownership stake in Deep Genomics, and exceptional opportunities for learning and growth.
