Job Description: Are you a passionate and innovative Engineer looking to help develop state-of-the-art AI and advanced unmanned systems? Are you eager to make a positive difference in the world? Do you want to work alongside mission driven and values focused teammates? Shield AI is just the place for you! The Avionics Team is responsible for cradle to grave ownership of all V-BAT avionics. This includes custom circuits, simulations, harnessing, 3rd party modules, advanced payloads, sensors, compute, RF, and telemetry. A key objective is to design and deploy hardware to enable autonomous behaviors. This is accomplished through rigorous engineering analysis, debugging, failing fast, iterate, and execute with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do:
- Support flight critical avionics from conceptthroughproduction including rapid prototyping
- Contribute to new avionics architectures as we evolve and advance V-BAT capabilities
- Debug, root cause, and repair electrical hardware issues. Drive improvements to prevent reoccurrence and increase reliability. Become fluent with aircraft schematics, wiring diagrams, interfaces, communications, and mechanical design
- Deliver novel autonomous features through collaboration with Mechanical, Electrical, Embedded, Manufacturing, Product Management, Flight Test, etc.
- Support aircraft flight operations and data review the responsible authority for evaluating aircraft health, performance, real-time debug and resolution
- Resolve technical challenges with rigor, analysis, and testing
- Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications:
- You have a B.S. degree or relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another field related to embedded systems
- Engineering experience in electrical system design, integration, testing, debug, and repair
- Comfortable using circuit schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong engineering analysis and debug fundamentals
- Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams
- Demonstrated track record of assuming ownership of and delivering outstanding outcomes
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbally
- Demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others
