About the job

Ro is a direct-to-patient healthcare company with a mission of helping patients achieve their health goals by delivering the easiest, most effective care possible. Ro is the only company to offer nationwide telehealth, labs, and pharmacy services. This is enabled by Ro's vertically integrated platform that helps patients achieve their goals through a convenient, end-to-end healthcare experience spanning from diagnosis, to delivery of medication, to ongoing care. Since 2017, Ro has helped millions of patients in nearly every single county in the United States, including 98% of primary care deserts.

The healthcare system today is not designed to help patients achieve their goals. It’s designed around institutions such as hospitals and insurance companies. A patient centric healthcare system is one that is designed around the goals a patient wants to achieve. We’re building healthcare that puts patients in control, provides reactive and proactive care, has transparent pricing and process, is extremely effective and ridiculously convenient, and evolves over time based on patients’ goals.

Ro has been recognized as a Fortune Best Workplace in New York and Health Care for four consecutive years (2021-2024). In 2023, Ro was also named Best Workplace for Parents for the third year in a row. In 2022, Ro was listed as a CNBC Disruptor 50.

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer who will supercharge data analysts, data scientists, and data-savvy stakeholders to more efficiently and effectively interact with our data stack. You will play a pivotal role in implementing our data infrastructure processes and best practices across a wide range of areas including, foundational data models across multiple domains (growth, product, first party data, finance, operations, etc.), self-service data tooling (e.g. feature stores, querying and data prep tools), data governance and testing processes, documentation, and more. You take pride in developing tools, processes, and working frameworks that unlock your colleagues to better leverage data to generate insights, build models, operationalize data, and more. You thrive in a startup setting, where every day is different and the problems that you’re tackling often don’t have established solutions. You have a bias for action and are able to work in nuanced contexts where it is crucial to develop solutions that balance speed with scalability.

What You'll Do:

  • Architect and build lasting data modeling solutions across a variety of data domains (growth, product, first party data, finance, operations, etc.)
  • Communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders to identify opportunities and build solutions that standardize our data approach to common problems across the company
  • Monitor the health of our data pipelines and proactively discover (and solve) pain points and areas of fragility
  • Approach opaque, unstructured problems by developing core analytic frameworks that shape the way the company thinks about our business
  • Increase data literacy and expertise through hands-on training and documentation
  • Document and teach data governance, engineering, and testing best practices

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • 2+ years of full-time working experience in quantitative analysis roles, with a significant portion of that time focused on data modeling in DBT and developing data pipelines and processes
  • Expert-level SQL skills
  • Knowledge of Python and associated analytics libraries (Pandas, etc.)
  • Experience using BI tools (ours is Looker) to effectively convey information
  • Strong problem solving skills, analytical aptitude, and numerical dexterity
  • Familiarity with Unix/the command line
  • Demonstrated track record of project ownership

Nice To Haves:

  • Experience with CDPs like Segment
  • Experience with product event/attribute tracking design and implementation processes — partnering with product and engineering personnel
  • We are open to data analysts / data engineers with demonstrable interest and project experience who are looking to make the transition to analytics engineer

We've Got You Covered:

  • Full medical, dental, and vision insurance + OneMedical membership
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care FSA
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Wellbeing + Learning & Growth reimbursements
  • Paid parental leave + Fertility benefits
  • Pet insurance
  • Student loan refinancing
  • Virtual resources for mindfulness, counseling, fitness, and physical therapy

We welcome qualified candidates of all races, creeds, genders, and sexuality to apply.

Perks

Healthcare that takes care
You don’t have to tell us how important healthcare is! Ro contributes generously towards medical, dental and vision benefits + a One Medical membership for all full-time employees and their eligible dependents.
Family friendly
From generous paid parental leave, flexible work arrangements, a dependent care account and a supportive #ro-kids community - we believe in family friendly benefits at Ro. We also love fur babies and are proud to be a dog-friendly office.
Equity for all
One of the best parts of joining a startup is the opportunity to both drive and benefit from the momentum that you help create. All full-time employees are granted equity to ensure the whole team shares in the success of our high growth.
You time
Our team lives full lives - from a medical mission in the Philippines to performing at Carnegie Hall to simply hitting the beach - we believe in flexible time off so that Ro’ers can balance their hard work in the office with what matters to them outside the office.
Icing on the cake
We keep our team well-fed (cold-brew on tap, snacks galore, bi-weekly lunches) and host lots of opportunities for fun (like office karaoke, game night, baseball outings and UN tours) - giving Ro'ers opportunities to connect is an important part of our culture.
Live & learn
We take the well-being and growth of our team to heart. Ro offers stipends for gym reimbursement and learning & development (for professional or personal growth) and we host regular group fitness classes and an ongoing speaker series.
