Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Payroll Associate to join our Human Resources team.
The Payroll Associate will provide high quality support to Tower by executing an accurate semi-monthly payroll while maintaining the integrity of HR’s information systems, and supporting Tower employees with payroll and benefits service.
Responsibilities
- Performing end-to-end activities of semi-monthly (multi-state) North American payrolls ensuring timely and accurately processing, including scheduling, timelines, collection of information, analysis, input, reconciliation, funding, and follow-up
- Producing payroll and compensation reports as scheduled for various departments and assisting with participation in special surveys
- Managing the general ledger reporting process and preparing, auditing, and delivering files to Accounting
- Manage year end process of ensuring all necessary adjustments for accurate W2 processing are completed and validated
- Owning the Payroll and Benefits email inbox, and being the first point of contact to assist employees with daily questions
- Coordinating with HR for onboarding, offboarding, and ensuring processing of transactions maintaining the relevant systems for electronic personnel and compensation data
- Supporting the regional Payroll and Benefits team by auditing the completed payroll and participating in quarterly cross-processing as part of the disaster recovery plan
- Strong knowledge of garnishments and payroll taxes
- Ability to maintain payroll records accurately and confidentially
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with HR department
- Knowledge of HR policies and procedures is a plus
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local labor laws and regulations
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of Payroll experience
- The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters and respond effectively to such situations
- Strong communication skills
- Strong PC skills (MS Office) and knowledge of any well-known payroll and benefits systems, Workday is a must
- The ability to learn and understand new software and applications quickly
- The ability to execute processes and scheduled tasks with little supervision
Anticipated annual base salary range is $85,000-105,000, plus eligible for discretionary bonus.
