MealMatch AI is seeking a Backend Engineer to help build and shape our MVP as we work towards launching a groundbreaking AI-driven platform for meal planning and grocery shopping.

Note: This is an equity-only position. Compensation will be equity in MealMatch AI, with an estimated timeline of 6-12 months after our MVP launch to secure funding. We're looking for someone who believes in our mission and is willing to grow with us!

What You’ll Be Doing:
Building Core Backend Functionality: Develop, test, and maintain the server-side logic to power the MealMatch AI app. You'll work with technologies that ensure our app is scalable, efficient, and user-friendly.

API Development & Integration: Design RESTful APIs to interact seamlessly with the frontend and third-party services (like grocery store APIs).

Database Management: Implement and optimize our data storage solutions to ensure smooth and secure access to user and product information.

Collaborating with Team Members: Work closely with frontend engineers, data scientists, and AI engineers to ensure seamless integration across the platform.

Participating in Code Reviews: Share your insights and learn from others in a collaborative team environment.

Problem-Solving and Debugging: Identify, prioritize, and address technical issues as they arise.

What We’re Looking For:
Proficiency in Backend Technologies: Strong experience in backend programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, etc.) and frameworks.

Database Skills: Knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or other modern databases.

API Development Experience: Ability to design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs for both internal and external use.

Understanding of Cloud Services: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and services like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

Communication Skills: A strong communicator who can effectively collaborate with both technical team members and management to ensure transparency and progress.

Startup Mindset: Self-driven, adaptable, and eager to work in a fast-paced startup environment with a willingness to wear multiple hats.
