OwlLabs is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to join our team. The SQA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through rigorous testing and validation processes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of testing embedded systems and IoT products. This role involves working closely with the development team to identify issues early in the development cycle, create and execute test plans, and continuously improve the testing process.* *
\WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop, document, and implement test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on the software requirements and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers, to understand product requirements and design effective test strategies.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing of software applications.
- Execute automated and manual tests to ensure the software meets the required standards of quality.
- Identify, document, and track defects and inconsistencies in the software.
- Work closely with software developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Communicate test results and quality metrics to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for product improvements based on test results.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to increase testing efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing methodologies and tools.
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or a related field.
- Experience with testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in testing software applications and embedded software for hardware products.
- Proficiency in both automated and manual testing techniques.
SKILLS:
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
- Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with automation frameworks.
- Understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
- Independent, self-starter with an energetic can-do attitude.
- Passionate about software quality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast paced team environment.
- Great verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Familiarity with audio testing.
- Proficiency with IoT devices.
