We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in building and optimizing cross-platform mobile applications. You should have a strong foundation in modern web and mobile development technologies and be passionate about creating intuitive user experiences. This is an equity-only position, and it requires the candidate to be onsite in the South Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Applications: Work on advanced global-scale backend applications using the latest in Google Cloud platform offerings.
• AI Product Development: Build AI-based offerings for customers to use the platform to train new models.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with various engineering and product teams to support initiatives for platform development.
• Prototyping: Rapidly prototype and create proof-of-concept implementations of product and platform roadmap.
• API Integration: Collaborate with front-end and mobile app teams to meet their API needs.
• Architecture Development: Work with product and customer teams to define and build future platform architecture, demoing early iterations for feedback.
• Beta Testing: Enable beta testers and early adopters on new products and features, resolving any gaps or pain points.
• Documentation: Document, support, and transition early iterations of product features to product and engineering teams.
• Performance Monitoring: Measure product and feature performance metrics and suggest improvements.
• Platform Improvements: Collaborate with the wider engineering team to deliver continuous platform improvements.
• Engineering Best Practices: Continuously improve our standard of engineering excellence by implementing best practices for coding, testing, deployment, and communication.
• Communication: Clearly communicate ideas with clarity while remaining open to feedback.

Qualifications
Required Experience:

• Scalable Service Design: Experience designing scalable, robust services in real-world applications.
• Technical Architecture: Ability to contribute to technical architecture discussions and help drive technical decisions.
• Cloud Architecture: Experience in Serverless or Cloud architecture on platforms such as GCP, and familiarity with infrastructure automation tools.
• Distributed Applications: Experience in distributed applications, event streaming, and SQL/NoSQL data stores.
• Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Python, Java, or Go.
• AI/ML Expertise: Experience in LLMs and/or machine learning, data engineering products, and features.

Nice to Have:

• Full-Stack Experience: Experience with full-stack development, CDNs, log streaming, monitoring, and observability.
• Cloud Security: Knowledge of cloud security, firewalls, DDoS and WAF, TLS, and API gateways.
• Gig Economy Products: Experience building gig economy products.
