Founding Backend Engineer

As a founding engineer (2nd full time engineer) you'll be a leader on the founding team, helping us develop our initial product and define our engineering culture. You'll focus on ways we can automate complex manual mortgage processes using both new and tried-and-true technologies, with the mandate to drive our platform architecture choices as well.

About You:

• You're a product-minded engineer who loves understanding the users and business problems behind your code.
• You're a Lego master builder who loves to move fast, leveraging existing building blocks wherever possible.
• You're excited to push the limits of what LLMs and new models can do, and see them used to create real value.
• You're familiar with the tradeoffs between building for speed and building for scale.
• Building in complex and heavily regulated spaces intrigues you—deep down, you're a systems nerd.
• You thrive in ambiguity, where you can define your own requirements, run tests, and drive outcomes.
• You’re a strong communicator, that’s used to working in remote and hybrid/remote teams.
• You're a self-starter who's motivated by shipping product and having an impact on users.
• You've worked on data-intensive products and/or have built products that integrate many channels of customer communications (text, email, calls, etc.).
• You’re a full stack/back-end focused engineer that is comfortable making architectural decisions and setting/managing up data infrastructure.
• Bonus - You have worked in Fintech or industries with stringent security requirements.
