Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic Cybersecurity Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring. This role involves developing and delivering training programs to enhance the cybersecurity skills of employees, clients, or students at a mid-level proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Training Content: Create, update, and maintain comprehensive training materials, including presentations, modules, labs, and assessments, to keep pace with current cybersecurity trends and technologies.
Conduct Training Sessions: Deliver engaging in-person or virtual training sessions on various cybersecurity topics such as threat analysis, incident response, ethical hacking, network security, and compliance standards.
Assess Learner Performance: Evaluate the performance of trainees through assessments, practical exercises, and feedback to ensure knowledge transfer and skill acquisition.
Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, best practices, tools, and certifications to ensure training content remains relevant.
Support Certification Preparation: Assist trainees in preparing for relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, and others.
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with other trainers, subject matter experts, and the cybersecurity team to continuously improve the training curriculum.
Feedback and Reporting: Gather feedback from participants, monitor training effectiveness, and report on outcomes to help refine and enhance training programs.
Mentoring and Coaching: Provide guidance and mentorship to trainees to help them achieve their professional goals within cybersecurity.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with at least 1-2 years of training, teaching, or mentoring experience.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent are preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in cybersecurity tools, techniques, and platforms such as SIEM, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability assessment tools.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain complex topics in a clear and accessible manner.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt training methods to suit different learning styles.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, particularly in the preparation and presentation of technical content.
Preferred Skills:
Hands-on experience with cybersecurity labs and simulations.
Familiarity with industry compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
Experience in creating e-learning content or using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
