About the role:
We're looking to hire a talented and experienced Data Privacy Counsel to join our growing Legal team.
You'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding user privacy and ensuring our company's compliance with all applicable data privacy regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance on all data privacy matters, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant Singaporean and international laws.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Data Privacy compliance program.
- Review and revise our data privacy policies and procedures to ensure alignment with best practices and evolving regulations.
- Review, revise and negotiate data processing agreements or data privacy provisions in commercial contracts.
- Manage data subject access requests (DSARs) and ensure timely responses.
- Work collaboratively with various departments, including product, engineering, and marketing, to embed data privacy considerations into all aspects of the business.
- Conduct regular data privacy audits and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest data privacy developments and trends.
- Provide data privacy training to employees to foster a culture of privacy awareness.
- Manage external relationships with data protection authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience working on data privacy issues in a legal or compliance role.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations, including GDPR and relevant Singaporean laws.
- Proven ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear and actionable guidance for non-legal teams.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- A passion for data privacy and a commitment to user trust.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous inhouse experience in a Global FinTech
- A strong understanding of data security concepts.
- Project management experience.
