We are seeking a highly skilled Middleware Systems Administrator (Level 2) with 3-5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing and supporting a wide range of middleware technologies, including Apache Tomcat, AppViewX, GitHub, IBM Data Quality Management, IBM DataStage, IBM HTTP Server, IBM MQ, IBM Quality Stage, IBM WebSphere, IIS, Java, Liferay, Loadrunner, PeopleSoft, Springboot, Talend, Terraform, ColdFusion, FHIR, Ab Initio, Angular, Ansible, and Apache/TC Server. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the stability, performance, and reliability of our middleware infrastructure while working with cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Configure, deploy, and maintain Apache Tomcat, AppViewX, GitHub, IBM Data Quality Management, IBM DataStage, IBM HTTP Server, IBM MQ, IBM Quality Stage, IBM WebSphere, IIS, Java, Liferay, Loadrunner, PeopleSoft, Springboot, Talend, Terraform, ColdFusion, FHIR, Ab Initio, Angular, Ansible, and Apache/TC Server environments.
  2. Monitor middleware systems for performance, availability, and security, responding to alerts and resolving issues promptly to minimise downtime.
  3. Implement and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline middleware administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  4. Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot application issues related to middleware configurations, performance, and integration.
  5. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, and security hardening, to ensure the stability and security of middleware platforms.
  6. Assist in capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization of middleware systems to meet business requirements and performance objectives.
  7. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve middleware-related incidents and problems.
  8. Document standard operating procedures, configuration guidelines, and troubleshooting steps for middleware systems and applications.
  9. Ensure compliance with industry best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements for middleware configuration and management.
  10. Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in middleware administration, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance infrastructure performance and reliability.
  11. Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as needed to ensure 24/7 availability and support for critical middleware services.
  12. Provide training and knowledge sharing to junior administrators and support teams on middleware technologies and best practices. Skills: • Extensive experience with Apache Tomcat, AppViewX, GitHub, IBM Data Quality Management, IBM DataStage, IBM HTTP Server, IBM MQ, IBM Quality Stage, IBM WebSphere, IIS, Java, Liferay, Loadrunner, PeopleSoft, Springboot, Talend, Terraform, ColdFusion, FHIR, Ab Initio, Angular, Ansible, and Apache/TC Server. • Strong understanding of middleware architecture, deployment, and configuration management. • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks. • Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles related to middleware environments. • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyse and debug complex middleware issues. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving and task management. • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), or equivalent, are desirable.
