SDE - Frontend Lead Engineer (React/Next)

At Teleport, we are revolutionizing the visa process, making it simple and hassle-free for millions of users. We are looking for a talented and experienced Frontend Lead Engineer to join our team.
You will take charge of our React and Next.js codebase and become the driving force behind our frontend development efforts. This is an opportunity to shape the user experience from the ground up as our first dedicated frontend engineer.

👨🏻‍💻 What you’ll do at Teleport

In 30 days you will:

• Get fully acquainted with the product, frontend codebase, and architecture.
  
• Suggest and implement improvements to the frontend stack, processes, or tools that could enhance our build and user experience.
  

In 60 days you will:

• Take full ownership of frontend features and plan your tasks accordingly. Collaborate with the product team to ensure alignment on design and implementation.
  
• Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support.
  
• Participate in product brainstorming sessions and help shape the frontend roadmap.
  

In 90 days and beyond you will:

• Lead the development of key frontend modules and ship multiple features. Ensure high code quality by implementing testing frameworks and conducting thorough code reviews.
  
• Set personal learning and development goals, collaborating with the team to achieve them.
  
• Continue mentoring junior team members and contributing to a culture of learning and collaboration.
  
• Help refine the hiring process as we grow the frontend team.
  

💪 You will be a great fit if you:

• Have 3-4 years of hands-on experience in frontend development with a strong focus on React and Next.js.
  
• Have built and scaled production-ready web applications, ensuring smooth performance and usability.
  
• Have a deep understanding of frontend architectures, state management, component-driven development, and modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript).
  
• Can independently own features from concept to deployment, managing time and resources efficiently.
  
• Are familiar with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.
  
• Are passionate about building delightful user experiences and have an eye for design and UI/UX principles.
  

➕ We’d love it if you also:

• Have experience with frontend performance optimization techniques (lazy loading, code splitting, etc.).
  
• Are proactive in suggesting new tools or libraries that can improve the development workflow.
• Have contributed to open-source frontend tools or libraries.
