Who we are looking for:

Phoenix Tailings is seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our Leadership Development Program (LDP). We are looking for individuals who are passionate about chemical process design and optimization in sustainable metals production. This program provides hands-on leadership experience while immersing you in cutting-edge projects related to solvent extraction, chemical refining, and scale-up processes for clean metal production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and optimize chemical processes: Take responsibility for chemical process optimization, focusing on solvent extraction and chemical refining techniques for critical metals.
• Develop and improve separation techniques: Lead the improvement of chemical separation processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
• Technoeconomic analyses:Contribute to financial models and process optimizations that ensure cost-effective chemical engineering solutions.
• Collaborate across teams: Work with R&D, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of chemical processes into the overall production system.
• Operational leadership: Lead day-to-day operations related to chemical processes, ensuring alignment with Phoenix Tailings' zero-waste philosophy.
• Leadership preparation: Gain leadership experience that prepares you for senior roles in chemical process design and operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in chemical process engineering, solvent extraction, or refining processes is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Passion for sustainability, clean energy, and innovative chemical engineering.
• A desire to grow into a leadership role in a rapidly scaling company.
